5

How many times do you utter this phrase "5 minutes" in a day? For me, the day starts with "5 minutes". Getting up early in the morning is such a pain and I guess most of you will concur with me in this. Everyday when the clock strikes 5, my mom starts her herculean task of waking me up and here starts the phrase "5 minutes" in my life. Truly speaking, off all those 6 hours sleep every night I really enjoy only those last 5 minutes of sleep. Now, this concept of 5 minutes has become so inclined to my life that for every task or every work I was asked to do I started asking for 5 minutes more time to get into the task (not my office work of course, else I would have been chucked out within a week I joined ;) ). Even for having food, I ask myself (or whoever serves me food) for 5 minutes to start eating unless and until I am really really hungry.

This "5 minutes" has become more so a part of my life with my mom's arrival to my place. According to a third person's perspective this attitude symbolizes laziness but according to me it is anything but laziness. I would probably call this as the "5 minutes of LIFE". There is always fun in being lazy, not getting things done at time, but not at the cost of something. The funniest of all is when my friend asked me where on earth is your next blog post and I asked her for 5" minutes" to complete it and post it :P

So folks, enjoy your lives and make merry of every "5 minutes" of your lives ;)

Deep in my heart thinking about you :) :)

On a cold December night, deep down the woods I wandered,
thinking about you, those lovely days we spent and those lovely times we had
,
tears welled up my eyes recollecting those sweet memories,
wiping my tears, braving the cold winds, I walked further deep into the woods,
when I hear this soothing music,

So pleasing was the music that it made me forget all my worries and all my pain,

I went in search of the voice, rather, the singer.....
Braving my way through the dark dangerous path,
determined to find the singer whose voice melted my heart,

I set on this not so promising journey, traveling for what seemed like miles, through the bushy paths,
when I finally could hear the voice growing louder, and there sat this young girl with her back facing me,
So enchanted by her music, that I failed to notice who she was,
When I heard someone calling out for me,
and Voila!!! It was you,

Happy that the Sunshine of my abode is back, I jumped with joy,
only to wake up realizing it to be a lovely dream.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

The title might be a little misleading. I am not going to talk or write about the famous american sitcom "F.R.I.E.N.D.S". This is about my friends here at my University (UC)...to me they are my family, my support system....... they are everything to me!!!

I do have a lot of friends but the ones I am going to describe really need a special mention. They have been very much instrumental in shaping my life beautifully in the past two years. If it were changing from an introvert to an extrovert it was "them". Now, I guess it is high time I introduce who these "them" are....they are none other than two of my closest and best friends Arpita and Soumya.

If my mom believes I have a changed a lot in the past two years (positive aspects.. :) )...then I would say these two girls have really been instrumental in bringing about such a change!!!

It all started with getting admitted to UC (for those who don't understand what UC is it is University of Cincinnati.. :P)...we had those usual university meets, exhcanging email id's and stuff like that....then it became a regular thing for us three to chat on YM almost every day..got to know each other very well...then finally we ended up travelling together to UC...The first few days, we went about roaming around the campus and searching for on-campus jobs and apartments together....I still remember that for every 5 minutes I used to complain by comparing the US of A with my sweet hometown Hyderabad and they way they used to chide me for that.. :) (but even know I still stand by that word arps and soum...Hyderabad really is the best place in the world..)...Then school started and I slowly got detached from them (due to some obvious reasons which I later on told them). I used to behave very wierdly even when I met them which made them think that I was yet another arrogant spolit brat.. :)...

Start of Spring'07, I again became close to them and I still remember those days when arpita and I used to go to UDF at some wierd times...Summer was the time when I missed them a lot as both of them went to India and I was here back at UC getting bored...it was then I realized how much I got used to them and their company...I regretted for restraining myself from them for the entire Fall and Winter quarters!!!! I could not control my happiness when I the day for them was nearing to get back to US... :P

Fall'07...This was really the amazing time during the entire 2 years of stay so far here in US...(and I bet arpita and soumya you both wouldn't disagree on this)...shoppings almost every weekend, those late night talks, the walks to UDF...seriously miss all those wonderful moments...I really cherish all those moments....

Winter and Spring'08 were equally memorable but we had our stupid thesis to do at the same time...and finally with the end of summer we were slowly drifting away from each other trying to settle down in our life...getting done with thesis, searching for jobs...Finally in August arpita left for Tampa to join her work which she had postponed it for nearly 3 months... :) (arpita, you hurricane story would be my next blog post :P)...Now, it's just the two of us ( me and soumya)...we still miss all those lovely days...I seriously wish to get the "universal remote" which Adam Sandler gets in the movie "Click", so that I could rewind and go back to those lovely days.... :)

hmmmm this might have been a boring post with lots of intricate details, more of my journey in the US during the last two years but I couldn't find any better way about how these guys were so precious to me and how they played a vital role in making my stay here in US so far very memorable...
Arpita and Soumya, I seriously miss all those memorable days and yeah we all should definitely meet up quite often... :)

tagging spree....!!!!

off late I have been hearing a lot about this tagging thingie.....I seriously had no clue what this was all about until arpita told me all about this.......and thanks to her this gives me a chance to speak about the books that I have read so far......I was never into the habit of reading books until I was almost done with my under graduation.....I was always fascinated with these mystery kind of books....esp. Agatha Christie's......always loved reading them.....!!!!

It's hard to pick which books I like among all those I have read so far....but lemme choose the best.... :)

1)Kane and Abel.....what a book....what a narration.....simply mind blowing...!!!!! I am literally a Jeffrey Archer fan now after I read this book.....he is the best....!!!! The story is about two men born worlds apart and the only thing they have in common is the date of birth (April 18, 1906)....How they rise in their lives and the failures they face forms the plot of the book.....!!!! The two protagonist's in this book are William Kane and Abel Rosnovski. I couldn't help admiring the two men's confidence and zeal to achieve something in their lives...especially Abel Rosnovski. A book for which I would give a 9.5/10.

2)The Da Vinci Code..........
This is an amazing book......it provoked some interest in the Holy Grail and the role of Mary Magdalene in the history of Christianity....lots of amazing terms, like the Priory of Scion.....This book was made as a movie and this movie created lots of controversies among the Christianity.....lots of revealing puzzles though it is a fiction....wish it were not a fiction....
3)The Finishing School.....

This novel by Michelle Martinez was one of the best mystery novels that I have read so far......brilliant, amazing, stupendous....there are many other synonyms that can be used to describe this book.....It's a story about a detective who comes to investigate the death of two high school girls.....both of whom are from the high strata of the society......how she unravels the mystery forms the plot of the story.....

I still remember one funny incident that happened to me when I was engrossed reading kane and Abel....that was a very funny incident.....still cannot hold my laughter whenever I recollect this incident......I was on my way back from my uncle's place in Washington DC when I had to change planes in NY....I was waiting near my terminal gate in NY airport engrossed reading Kane and Abel that I didn't see that they had changed my terminal gate and suddenly when I looked up at the gate I found it to be closed.....I got nervous and without thinking ran towards the terminal gate and opened it....and as soon as I did that....there was a huge sound....lol.....there went the alarm and everyone started looking at me.....The lady at the opposite terminal gate called me up and gave me a warning saying that if I did this again she would put me behind the bars....!!!!!!! :):)....lol I couldn't control my laughter thinking about that incident even now.....

now let me tag my dear buddy batman....oops...sry did I tell that...Balaji.R.Sharma...... :):)
